Proverbs 11

Stopping for Directions

Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances. Proverbs 11:14 (MSG)

Have you ever really gotten lost? The worst time to get lost is when you are all alone. It is an extremely hopeless feeling to be lost with no one around to help.

Sometimes, we make a bad turn in life and lose our way. Often, it is our pride that keeps us from stopping and asking for directions and getting back on the right path. We think we can “work” our way back. We think we can figure it out by ourselves.

God didn’t create us to go through life alone, trying to figure everything out by ourselves. He has placed, all around us, people who love us and care for us. Unfortunately, at times, these people care more for us than we care for ourselves.

Who are the people in your life with whom you need to spend more time, listening to their wise guidance? Stop trying to navigate life alone. Many have gone before you and know a better way. Take some time today to stop and ask for directions. Don’t let your pride keep you from living an abundant life on the right road.
