Classes are provided for preschool children, from birth through Pre-Kindergarten. 

To best meet their needs, babies and toddlers are grouped developmentally until age two, at which time they are grouped by birth date and promoted annually.  Clean, safe classrooms with age-appropriate equipment and toys are provided. In addition, classrooms are staffed with well-trained teachers and volunteers, all of whom are members of Idlewild Baptist Church.  For the safety of children, background checks are completed on all adults serving in our classrooms and a security identification system is used for the dropping off and picking up of children.

Children who are four years old before September 1 attend Praise Island at 9:30 on Sunday.  Praise Island is a large-group praise and worship time. In addition, four year olds may also attend a Bible Friendship Class at 8:00 AM or 11:00 AM.

In Bible Friendship classes, all preschoolers experience age-appropriate Bible-learning activities using a hands-on approach.  Activities are planned with a specific goal in mind, teaching spiritual truths.  Because preschoolers learn by "doing", opportunities are provided for building, painting, exploring, playing, cooking, tasting, and singing while learning Bible truths.  Activities involve books, puzzles, blocks, homeliving, nature materials, music, and art.  Each session includes a group Bible-story time.
